Joleah Jackson
Joleah Jackson is a culinary school graduate and a current student at Arizona State University, where she is pursuing a degree in Sustainable Food Systems. Passionate about building equitable and environmentally responsible food systems, Joleah explores the intersection of nutrition, sustainability, and social justice through both her academic studies and professional work. As a USDA NextGen intern at the Indigenous Resilience Center, she has gained valuable insights into Indigenous food, energy, and water systems— and how these culturally rooted practices are essential to building resilient communities and sustainable futures. In her role as Regional Engagement & Development Manager for the State of California, Joleah leads collaborative efforts among stakeholders to advance sustainability and economic development. She has spearheaded initiatives such as the Business Ready Sites Program, showcasing her strengths in leadership, communication, and project management. Outside of her professional life, Joleah enjoys cooking, exploring nutritional therapy and herbalism, volunteering, and taking walks in nature. Driven by a lifelong commitment to service, Joleah aspires to transform food systems to ensure access to healthy, nourishing food for all—while promoting policies and practices that sustain both people and the planet.
