We are excited to share that ASU’s Arizona Water4All Coalition, Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), Reconciliación en el Río Santa Cruz, and Water For People, are launching the Water Leadership Institute: Community Beyond Boundaries this fall in Tucson. This externship program will include a series of 5 free, bilingual water engagement and leadership workshops for the next generation of water leaders, ages 18+.

Session dates:
  • September 13th - Tucson, AZ / Rio Santa Cruz
  • October 4th - Wa:k Hikdan / San Xavier Co-op Farm 
  • October 25th - Tumacacori, Tubac Nature Center
  • November 15th - Nogales, AZ
  • December 6th (Graduation) - Patagonia, AZ
 
WLI Objectives 
  • Awareness: To promote awareness and create spaces for dialogue to develop a shared understanding of local water issues.
  • Community: To create a community of learning, connecting participants to information, opportunities, and networks to effectively advocate for their community’s water.
  • Leadership: To support and inspire young leaders to be more engaged in local water and climate efforts.
 
Program Perks:
  • Field Trips, hands-on activities, and connection to mentors and careers related to water.
  • Participation stipend ($90 per session) to compensate for time and travel costs. 
  • Lunch and snacks at sessions. 
  • Certificate of Completion upon attendance of 3 or more sessions
  • Letters of recommendation available upon request.
