Greetings to all our communities!

We hope each of you are doing well! You may have already heard but if not yet, register TODAY for our June 15th & 16th Mobilizing Decolonial Praxis Conference in Tucson, Arizona at the University of Arizona.

We had our first conference in 2021 and we are excited to host another conference. The focus of this year's conference is around developing critical Indigenous curriculum for our communities and will be an interactive and engaging space. The purpose of the conference is for participants to walk away with a tangible curriculum unit that could be taught in their respective spaces.

We hope to engage with our Indigenous communities, leaders, educators, and youth, to create critical Indigenous curriculum that is based on the unique contexts of Indigenous communities. The goals of the conference are to:

  1. premiere ITEP teachers' efforts to incorporate Indigenous philosophies, languages, and values into their classrooms, and decolonize their curriculum and pedagogy;
  2. share the ways in which educators encourage students to think critically and engage justice centered pedagogies;
  3. create opportunities to engage in critical dialogues that further the goals of Indigenous education to center notions of “teachers as Native nation-builders”; and
  4. enact Indigenous sovereignty by creating curriculum based on the unique contexts of Indigenous communities.

Please see the conference website for additional information and conference host hotels – https://itep.coe.arizona.edu/mobilizing-decolonial-praxis-conference-2023

We are excited about having a mix of keynote speakers, knowledge holders, educators, community leaders, advocates, educational leaders, and youth come together during this event!
